State Representative Gail Finney is a Democrat serving in the Kansas House since 2009. Rep. Finney lives in Wichita, Kansas with her husband, Jerrold, and has three children and six grandchildren.
In addition to her representative duties, Representative Finney and her husband operate two businesses. She holds a Bachelors of Business Administration degree from Wichita State University and a Masters of Business Administration from Friends University.
Representative Finney was born and raised in Wichita’s Northeast neighborhood. She is a product of Kansas public schools from grade school through graduate school. Her passion is public service and social justice. Representative Finney was first elected to the Kansas House in November 2008 and has earned praise as a leader on women’s issues, civil rights and criminal justice policy.
Representative Finney believes the role of government is to ensure that all citizens have the opportunity and ability to build a better future for themselves. She believes in equal access to a quality education, access to affordable health care, living wages, and a fair criminal justice system where everyone is treated equally by the law.
